This Privacy Policy explains what SIGNED. collects, why, who it is shared with, and your rights. We take the sensitivity of your family's birth data seriously.
1. What we collect
Account: your name, email, and password (stored hashed), or your Google sign-in. Birth details: date, time (if known), and birthplace with its time zone, for you, your children, and any co-parents you add. We use them only to calculate astrological placements. Your questions and notes: if you use the follow-up in a full reading, the text you write. Names, contact details, schools, addresses, dates, and health details are removed before it is stored or sent anywhere. Community: the posts, replies, votes, and reports you create. Payments: processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Usage: pages viewed and actions taken in SIGNED, measured by our own system with no third-party trackers or ads.
2. Why we use it
To calculate placements, write your readings, run the community, process payments, send the email you ask for (account, receipt, and snapshot email), secure your account, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your children's information for advertising.
3. How readings are written
Readings are written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude, provided through our hosting provider Replit). The model receives the placement signs, each person's life stage (for example "toddler"), and how the two people are related. For a follow-up, it also receives your questions and notes with the private details already removed. It never receives names, birth dates, birth times, or birthplaces. Names are added back into the reading only on our side, when it is shown to you.
4. Who we share data with
Only the processors that run the service, each bound to handle data securely: Stripe (payments), Replit (hosting and the AI integration), Neon (database), Anthropic (AI, through Replit), and Brevo (email delivery).
5. Your rights
You can see and correct your data in the app, and ask us for a copy at any time. Delete account in your profile permanently erases your account, children, co-parents, readings and follow-ups, your community posts, and our email list entries for you. Records of payments are kept as accounting and tax law require. EU/UK and California residents have additional rights you can exercise by contacting us.
6. Retention & security
We keep your data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account. The questions and notes you send for a follow-up are deleted 30 days after your follow-up is written; the answers stay with your reading. Passwords are hashed, sessions use secure, http-only cookies, and connections are encrypted in transit.
7. Children & parental consent (COPPA)
SIGNED is an adults-only service. Only a parent or legal guardian who is 18 or older may create an account, and at sign-up they must affirmatively confirm that role before any child information can be entered. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account, and children do not log in or interact with SIGNED directly.
A child's birth details are provided by the consenting parent or guardian solely to compute that child's astrological placements. We collect from a child only what the parent enters (name and birth date, time, and place); we never ask a child for information, show them ads, or use their information for marketing. The data belongs to the adult account holder, who can view, correct, or delete it, or the whole account, at any time, which permanently erases the child's data.
8. Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change and note it with the "Last updated" date.
